At Resurrection, we have ministries that are designed just for women. We have groups that meet all year long, as well as occasional “one time” events, such as conferences & retreats. Our ongoing women’s ministry is called SOAR. For more information on SOAR, continue reading or scroll to the bottom for contact and registration options.

What is SOAR?

SOAR is a weekly gathering at Resurrection Lutheran designed to provide support to women so that they can fulfill their call to love and serve God, their family and the surrounding community.  SOAR

was started to serve women at every stage of life so that they may …
  • Grow in their faith
  • Have an opportunity to build real and meaningful relationships with           other women
  • Find support and resources to help them and their family
  • Serve together in our community

Who is SOAR for?

SOAR is for all women at every stage of life. When women come together to share their stories, listen, laugh and pray for each other powerful things happen. Drawing on strength from God and from each other we find that we are able to soar to new heights as women of faith and family.

When & Where does SOAR meet?

SOAR AM meets on Monday mornings from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Gathering Place. SOAR PM meets Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the room “Jerusalem.”

What is a typical SOAR meeting like?

A typical SOAR meeting begins with an informal time to reconnect with old friends and possibly meet a few new friends, too. All while enjoying a cup of coffee and a tasty treat.

A speaker or activity is then presented to the entire group, giving way to discussion time where you can apply the lesson to your own life. Discussions are led by a leader who can provide guidance to the conversation and share any special insights they have acquired.

Towards the end of each meeting we devote time to praying for each other. No need to worry, you will not be put on the spot and asked to pray. However, we do not want you to struggle on your own. Prayer time at SOAR is a safe place to share those things weighing heavily on your heart and have them lifted up in prayer by some of our prayer warriors.

Is there childcare provided?

We are pleased to offer you childcare on Monday mornings. On Mondays of each week, at least two childcare workers who have passed an interview and criminal background check supervise babies/toddlers in the nursery and older kids in the joining classroom.

During their time in the nursery know that your kids are well taken care of by kind and loving childcare workers who also provide the kids with a short Bible story and devotional.  As you are enjoying some adult time growing in faith, know your kids are doing the same.

How much does SOAR cost?

There is no cost to attend SOAROccasionally we will do a book study, to guide our conversation, and there might be a small charge for the cost of a book.  No one will be turned away for an inability to pay.

SOARing into Service

Throughout the year we devote time to serving other women and families in our community.  Serving is a powerful way to make a difference in our world and share the love that God has so poured out on us.

Do I need to register for SOAR?

We encourage women wanting to commit to the full year of SOAR activities to register with the links at the bottom of this page. It helps us to know who will be coming and make sure we have enough coffee and treats ready! There is an open invitation for all women to attend SOAR at any point during the year, so bring a friend, invite your sister, or ask your mom to come when she is in town.  All are welcome.
