I have been a member at Resurrection Lutheran Church for 8 years. During that time I have helped in Pathfinders as a Preschool to K teacher, I have helped with the children’s Christmas program and also on VBS. I have participated in the Alpha program and have gone through the Via de Cristo and now active in two renewal groups which I enjoy. I also like to help in the kitchen not only to serve, but I am a great tester of food:)
I have been married to my wife, Shannon, for 9 WONDERFUL years and we have two great kids Samantha who is 7 and Ryan who is 6. My daughter Samantha loves to do gymnastics and dance and anything that have to do with arts or crafts. My son Ryan loves wrestling and gymnastics and anything that deals with taking apart things and putting back together. My wife Shannon just went back to school and is going to peruse a career in nursing and she also loves to dance which lead her to be a Zumba instructor.
I came to RLC because my wife wanted to go and “try out” a contemporary service. I, being brought up Missouri synod, was not comfortable with contemporary it felt too “loosey goosey”. I soon realized it was just a “trick” to help me realize God is everywhere and the only way I can worship is by participating in church (worshiping with people in the house of God).
I feel called now not only because someone has seen the ability in me to serve, but by my learning on how to be humbled when I lost control of my life after being laid off. I learned that God is in control of my life and if I put my faith in him my needs will be met in every way. My favorite verse I like to live by everyday is 2 COR 5:7 “WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT”.
