I see the role of Council as the foundation that helps make ministry possible by clearing road blocks, establishing priorities, managing our financial resources and helping Pastor Jedidiah cast the vision. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Council’s most important tool is discernment — discerning God’s plan and direction for Resurrection as we balance serving our congregation and community.
At Resurrection, I have participated in several ministry areas including the Great River Alpha initiative to assist area churches as well as non-church locations launch Alpha courses. Partnering with area Christians to deliver the Gospel and surround our community with the love of Christ through Alpha has been incredibly rewarding. In addition to Alpha, I have enjoyed facilitating multiple small groups here.
I am a prayer warrior on our Personal Prayer team and a member of our Via de Cristo community. Previously, I’ve worked with our kids through the Senior High Student Leadership Program and Cross Training classes and led our New Member Class.
Serving with new believers, young people, mature Christians and community leaders across multiple ministries gives a broad perspective of the gifts, gaps, desires and needs of our church family. I believe Worship and Music is the one ministry that I have not participated in. And for that, you can all be thankful.
I work as a communication consultant for the health care industry. I grew up in theMonticelloarea and today live in Becker. I am married to my wonderful husband Chaun. No kids, just cats, don’t ask.
I think it’s important to know that being a member of the Resurrection family is not for the spectator. Here, we help, we pray, we chip in, we lift up, we serve, we raise our hands and do what needs to be done to bring our community to Christ. That’s why I love it.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you as part of this amazing body of Christ!
